The Liberty Corner First Aid Squad was founded in 1965 and has been serving the community since.
LCFAS is an all-volunteer community organization providing emergency medical services (EMS) at the Basic Life Support (BLS) level to the Bernards Township community. We respond to roughly 1000 calls per year and cover around 70 percent of Bernards Township. Our team is made up entierly of volunteers who are fully trained and certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services.
As EMTs, we are trained, equipped and authorized to provide various medical interventions at the BLS level. These include evaluation of vital signs, basic patient assessment, stabilization and treatment of most injuries. We respond to a range of calls including personal medical emergencies up to car accidents. We are on-call 24/7 to help when needed.
In addition to responding to emergencies, we also take part in many of our community's events. You'll find us at school football games, town fairs and summer camps teaching campers about EMS.
